Left-wing scientist bails on global warming movement
Haha! Now even the left wingers are defecting against Al Gore's fantasy predictions.Physicist Dr. Denis Rancourt, a former professor and environmental science researcher at the University of Ottawa, has officially bailed out of the man-made global warming movement. He declares it a 'corrupt social phenomenon...strictly an imaginary problem of the 1st World middleclass'. As thousands of other scientists around the world have agreed, he is correct.
> Exclusive New Video: Calls cap-and-trade an 'horrendous scam' -- Joins other left of center scientific and activist dissenters.
Watch it HERE.
“I argue that by far the most destructive force on the planet is power-driven financiers and profit-driven corporations and their cartels backed by military might; and that the global warming myth is a red herring that contributes to hiding this truth. In my opinion, activists who, using any justification, feed the global warming myth have effectively been co-opted, or at best neutralized,” Rancourt said.

More VPD brutality
Sick. Just sick. Those wearing a uniform are increasingly becoming the enemy of the people. And they wonder why? Last week this video surfaced showing a VPD officer pushing a woman with cerebral palsy to the ground on Hastings St. The officer in question has been reassigned. REASSIGNED! What the hell is this garbage? They either get reassigned or get paid leave whenever they are caught. Forget about when they're NOT caught!
He should be thrown in fucking jail along with the rest of his cronies back at the ol' station who probably laughed at the whole incident while preparing their bullshit press releases. Too bad this woman wasn't capable of fighting back. The officer deserved a swift kick in the nuts.
Blackberry 6 is almost here
This new OS paired up with the upcoming Bold 9800 = pure sexy. I'm renewing my contract for an iPhone 4 and immediately selling that Apple hunk of junk so I can buy this ultimate BB unlocked! If you want a brand new iPhone 4, complete with reception problems and all, message me...lol.
It's the sun, stupid
Read here. Researchers using lake sediment cores determine that severe weather for the northeastern United States has followed a cyclical pattern with a 3,000 year gap between each peak. The latest severe weather period began some 600 years ago with onset of the Little Ice Age. The major forces driving this natural cycle are thought to be solar changes, along with changes in the Atlantic Oscillation (AO).Atmospheric CO2 levels are not even considered to be an influence on this natural cycle of storminess.
"The authors' data indicate that "the frequency of storm-related floods in the northeastern United States has varied in regular cycles during the past 13,000 years (13 kyr), with a characteristic period of about 3 kyr." There were four major storminess peaks during this period; they occurred approximately 2.6, 5.8, 9.1 and 11.9 kyr ago, with the most recent upswing in storminess beginning "at about 600 yr BP [Before Present], coincident with the beginning of the Little Ice Age.".....authors say that the pattern they observed "is consistent with long-term changes in the average sign of the Arctic Oscillation [AO], suggesting that modulation of this dominant atmospheric mode may account for a significant fraction of Holocene climate variability in North America and Europe.".....authors also report that "during the past ~600 yr, New England storminess appears to have been increasing naturally," and they suggest that "changes in the AO, perhaps modulated by solar forcing, may explain a significant portion of Holocene climate variability in the North Atlantic region." They further state that their explanation is appealing "because it makes a specific prediction that New England storminess should be at its greatest when Europe is cold (characteristic of the low-phase AO)," such as during Little Ice Age conditions"

Yes yes, this is my third post about Apple's flawed phone. So, what do you do if you actually bought a shiny new iPhone 4 and it's singing the reception blues? Here's a band-aid. Really.
This is fucking awesome. And nicer than duct tape I suppose. Order yours from Antenna-aid.com.
Consumer Reports: Can't Recommend iPhone 4
Is there an app for getting reception on an iPhone? Yep, it's called duct tape. Seriously. LOL.
UPDATE: Even after Apple's "antennagate" press conference to try and convince us there's nothing wrong, Steve Jobs offers all iPhone 4 owners a free rubber case and Consumer Reports still gives iPhone 4 the big thumbs down. As they should.

Sorry Steve, the problem does NOT happen on my Blackberry Bold 9700, no matter how much I try. With your iPhone, people don't even have to try and it loses signal. You shouldn't need to put a case on an $800 product to make it work properly!
Bad design, bad PR response, epic iFail.
Rogers is getting scared
The Big Bad Red of the Canadian wireless world is already beginning its fight against WIND and other new entrants into the marketplace. Rogers has officially announced it is launching a third wireless brand to join their existing two brands (Rogers and Fido), this time targeting the same customers as WIND Mobile. They're calling this new company "Chatr Wireless" and it will be offering unlimited talk and text in the exact same five cities that WIND is currently operating in. Coincidence? Not a chance. Hilariously obvious? Definitely. This is a slap in the face to all customers already on Rogers and Fido since those customers will not have access to the cheap unlimited plans. Clearly Rogers does not want to lose the high-revenue smartphone users on the two main brands. Chatr will not be offering data plans, so don't even think about bringing your Blackberry, iPhone, or Android phone over there. Forget smartphones altogether, actually. Smooth Rogers, smooth. We're not falling for it! And once everyone finds out who's running Chatr, g'luck with that. :)
I Want a Disco Chair
No really, I do. And here it is.Clearly the engineers over at Kiwi&Pom had me in mind when they designed this thing. It's made from 200 meters of electroluminescent wire, and yeah it can flash on and off and stuff.
The only qualm I have with it is the name. Seriously guys, throwing the word "disco" in any product name is just a big fail. Maybe call it the Rave Chair or Electro Chair. Yes, that's it. Electro Chair. Cool. Something a little more 21st century. K thx.
City Fido Flashback
Remember this ad that started it all? I do. And I remember seeing it on TV and calling Fido to switch to this kick-ass $40 unlimited plan immediately! I kept it for 6 years, and then switched to even better Fido unlimited retention plans without zones. And then, of course, WIND came along and suddenly CityFido sucked.
